THE STORY OF CHRISTMAS

"Tell me the story of Christmas, " she said

As I gently kissed her and tucked her in bed;

I took her hand and held it in mine,

Brushed back the curls so shiny and fine,

Kissed the tiny fingers with a tear in my eye

Then silently turned to our father on high.

I told her of him who reigns over all,

That he made for good both great and small,

From placing the stars and planets in the sky

To hearing the echo of babys first cry

That every whispered prayer is known

As he keeps calling his children home.

Yes, I told of the birth in a far away land

That Jesus of God grew from babe into Man,

He performed miracles, walked on the sea,

That He healed the sick, told the blind to see;

That he taught us to give and live in love;

Christ is our gift from our Father above.

Theres a jolly old man with red suit trimmed in white

With a delightful chuckle, his eyes twinkle bright,

You know Santa, reindeer and sleigh

And the joy they bring on Christmas day,

They help with the gifts, Santa loves everyone

Hes the spirit of Christmas from God and His Son.
